Familienaam Wieffering
Wieffering - Wieferink
De familie Wieffering kwam ik op het spoor naar aanleiding van een verzoek van Bill Wieffering in Canada. Hij vroeg op het internet om informatie over zijn voorouders, en ik besloot op zijn verzoek in te gaan.
Toen ontstond een heel interessant onderzoek dat zich eerst concentreerde in Amsterdam, maar mij later naar Raalte bracht.
De Amsterdamse Wiefferings en de Raaltense Wieferinks zijn namelijk één familie. Hun stamvader is Anthony Jansen Wieffering die zo rond 1725 in Raalte geboren moet zijn.
When I offered Bill Wieffering in Canada to research his ancestors, I did not know what that research would bring me. I started in Amsterdam but ended in Raalte in the province of Overijssel, where all Wiefferings originally come from. The Wiefferings in Raalte are spelled Wieferink. But they all belong together. Their original ancestor is Anthony Jansen Wieffering who was born in Raalte around 1725.
Zoals gebruikelijk is de stamboom nog incompleet, maar ik hoop dat Wiefferings en Wieferinks elders mij willen helpen de informatie aan te vullen. Zelf zet ik het onderzoek ook nog voort en zal de komende tijd aanvullende gegevens invoeren.
Inmiddels heb ik ook een tweede familie Wiefering in kaart gebracht. Deze stamt uit het Duitse Ülsen, maar heeft ook een paar vertakkingen naar Nederland,
The Wieffering/Wieferink family tree is incomplete, but I hope that with assistance from Wiefferings elsewhere, we can get a more complete picture. Of course I will continue myself to search in the Dutch archives for more detail. I have also recently published a second Wiefering family with roots in Ülsen (Germany). Ity has a few branches in Holland as well.
